SUZUHIRO TAKADA

PROFILE

1988年生まれ、大阪出身。

大学時代にスペインへ留学。滞在していた街のバルで一枚の小さな風景写真に出会う。そして帰国を２ヶ月後に控えた夏、首都マドリードで衝撃的な感動体験をする。その場にて“人生で何かを成し遂げる”ことを誓い、留学最終盤に行ったスペイン国内を巡る旅路の最中、風景写真と共に生きていくことを決意する。帰国後に復学して関西大学を卒業。大手銀行に２年間勤務して退社。ここから本格的な写真家としての活動を始める。まずは日本を一周しながら独学で写真を学び、その後は東京へ進出。現在は横浜を拠点に活動している。

撮影における主だったテーマは「世界の自然風景」であり、始動から５年ほどは海外撮影取材を精力的に行なっていた。コロナ禍によって海外渡航が厳しくなって以降は日本国内の風景撮影も行なっており、今後は両軸での活動を視野に入れている。写真家としての主な活動は「額装作品販売」「オリジナルカレンダー販売」「広告代理店やデザイン事務所等への作品提供」である。その一方、写真を楽しむ初心者の方のために「写真教室」を開催、本気でプロを目指す方のために「写真家育成」も行なっている。

アーティストメッセージ

一度でも“本物の感動体験”に心を奪われた人間の行き着く先は、その体験をまだ見ぬ誰かに届けることだと感じています。写真を撮る際は常に「光」を意識し、その一枚が誰かの「光」になることを願い、地球上の美しくて儚い瞬間を捉えています。

絶望の中にいた過去の私が「光」を追い求めた旅路。その先に待っていたのは風景写真との出会いであり、人生を決定付ける感動体験でした。その「光」を見つけた私の責務は、写真に恩返しをすること、そして未来に出会うべき誰かの道標になることだと信じています。

Suzuhiro was born in Osaka, 1988. He studied abroad in Spain while in Kansai University. At the small bar in the city he was staying, he came across an impressive small postcard-sized landscape photograph. Some months before returning to Japan, he experienced a shocking, moving, and life-changing event at Madrid and set his mind on “accomplishing something great in my life”. And through his tour across Spain, Suzuhiro has decided to be a landscape photographer.

After graduation and two years of employment at a major bank, he began a full-scale activity as a photographer by learning skills on his own while traveling around Japan. He started a professional career in Tokyo,and is currently based in Yokohama.

The main subject of his photography is “the natural landscapes of the world” and he has been actively engaged in overseas photo coverage. As the COVID-19 disaster made overseas travel difficult, he has also been photographing landscapes in Japan,and now looking to work both domestic and overseas in the future.

His main activities as a photographer are “sales of framed works”, “sales of original calendars”, and “provision of works to advertising agencies and design offices.” On the other hand, he also holds “photography classes” for beginners who enjoy photography, and “photographer training” for those who are serious about becoming professionals.

Artist’s Message

I believe that once a person is captivated by a “genuine emotional experience”, his next destination would be “delivering that experience to someone who has not yet known it”.

When taking photographs, I am always conscious of “light”. In the hope that one of these images will be a “light” for someone else, I am capturing beautiful and fleeting moments on earth.

When I was in despair in the past, what awaited me in my pursuit of “light” was an encounter with landscape photography and an emotional experience that would define my life. Having found that “light,” I believe that my responsibilities are to give back to photography and to be a beacon of hope to someone I should meet in the future.
